Join us as we go on our rootless adventure

Bob & Mel of Virginia

So we did a thing and gave up our bar and escaped the music business. We know quite a bit about living in a small space together as we leave our studio apartment behind to stretch our legs across the USA!

After much research and plenty of unfinalized decisions, we finally settled on a 2000 Holiday Rambler Ambassador 36PBS diesel pusher (we call her Burnadebt) to aid us in our new adventures. To those that wondered if we made an impulsive decision to pursue a new dream you are correct, we made the decision this past August for a lifestyle change. I do not say that lightly as we have spent the last 6 years wrapped up tight in the music and bar scene; a 24-hour job for sure. But the days of wearing shoes all the time, putting out "fires", and being "on" all the time is over. We can't wait to head out barefoot making fires and turning off everything.

We are staying close to home for our maiden voyage in 10 days! The clock is ticking for getting ourselves and Burnadebt ready. Our first adventure will be tasked with how to survive a Virginia winter climate. We have our layers and will be learning as we go how to handle water supply and limited power...wish us luck. As always we just ask ourselves "What is the worst thing that can happen?" if we can handle that all else will be easy.

For the last few months, we have been watching all those comedic rv movies as a training manual on what not to do. Of course, Bob has watched a few hundred RV YouTube videos on how to do everything and everywhere we should go. He is like a sponge with these videos which gives me great comfort alongside his heavy mechanical experience Burnadebt and I are in the best of hands.
