We did it, we Rambled Rootlessly for one whole year and didn't kill each other, get lost, or starve to death. We did get very cold and very hot, learned lots, and made new friends. While 2023 did not go as planned, we have learned to just roll with it. We hope that 2024 is just as awesome as we stretch a little farther up and down the East Coast.

Wrapping up 2023...

"Burnadebt" may not have her own tree but we have been surrounded by light and love.

The donkeys insist on having a tree for their barn and

the barn kitties love it too.

Meanwhile, over at The Folk Farm we gathered with all the barnkeepers, while Mitchel sang us some songs.

We got in some home-base family time before escaping to the mountains to celebrate with the kids.

Last stop for 2023, Sleeping Above the Clouds!

We had an exceptional holiday with the kids. We did all the things...unwrapped gifts, made gingerbread things, slept with the dogs in the middle of the day, ate all the food, failed to finish a puzzle, and wandered the mountains. Well, Bob and I did not wander the mountains...but the others did and brought back lots of photos and memories. The photos below were taken by Cody. He has his own film company so by default he becomes the documenter of all wanderings.

P.S. love that someone knew we needed shower wipes for our rootless lifestyle.

Can you guess where we are going next?

*Hint, it will not be in a tent and it will not be cold or hot.

Burnadebt is going to the doctor for a bit to get her transmission at top speed. We feel a little homeless, as all of the stuff that we need for the next month is smooshed into the Jeep; while the rest of it is scattered out into the four corners of the universe for safekeeping.

When we get her back, there may be even more downsizing but there isn't much more to let go of...RV space math...we moved from a studio apartment of 700+/- sf to a 37 ft motorhome of 300+/- sf (and anothe 100sf in the basement); so really what more can we let go of? Mel tried to bring all of our clothes, food, and cooking equipment into the Jeep. This is what she left in the RV...
